World War II nurse Claire Beauchamp Randall mysteriously returns to Scotland in 1743. There she meets a dashing Highland warrior and is drawn into an epic rebellion. Moore (the TV series’ developer), his team decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English. They kept the narrative in the first person, showing Claire’s inability to understand Gaelic.
In the first half of season 2 (set in France), some of the lyrics are in French
The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who said he had seen something similar in Skin Deep (1998), a foreign alternative film starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. In some episodes, the characters say, “All right.” An American term that did not come into use until the 19th century. The opening theme song changes from season to season to reflect what is happening in the plot. The second half of season 2 (which is mostly about preparing for war) adds a militaristic drum roll to the opening theme.

Tribal drums are added during season 3, since much of the season takes place in the West Indies. Season 4 adds bluegrass fiddle and banjo, and some of the lyrics are sung in a Southern accent, since the season is mostly set in America. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen
The music, the setting, the characters were all perfect. However, after season 3, it took a huge nosedive and became very boring. Brianna and Roger are really annoying and Brianna is hard to watch at times. It’s really disappointing because it was an amazing show.
So I left the show
I watched season 4 and even season 5, but it was clear that she would never get her magic back. I’m not sure if it’s the same story as the book, but I did, but just the books and thought I’d read them.
